 Cancelled Airfare Refund Rules 

§   Involuntary Refunds (If BA cancels you flight).

§  can get a refund for the unutilized portion of your flight ticket. JetBlue Airways will return the full amount paid for fees, surcharges or taxes.

§  If you have used only a part of your ticket, the refund amount is the difference in the total fare plus the portion that you used while you were traveling.

§   Voluntary refunds (if you cancel your flight).

§  If you cancel your flight tickets for reasons not listed above, you will be reimbursed the ticket fare as well as any fees, surcharges, or charges. However, there may be a cancellation fee.

§  If you or a party member of your party have used your tickets, the refund amount is the difference between the total price and the fare used. The cancellation fee and any applicable service charge will also apply.

§   General Refund Conditions 

§  Non-refundable tickets can't be cancelled. The amount of a refund for non-refundable tickets is only subject to the fees or taxes that were refundable. An exception may be made if the cancellation was due to events beyond our control. In this case, you could be issued a travel coupon for future travel.

§  All refunds are subject to the fare rules & conditions applicable to your booking.

§  Unless otherwise stated, all refunds will go to the person who purchased the ticket.

§  You must be in a position to show proof that you paid for your ticket.

§  If you wish to get a refund of your ticket, you must give it along with any flight coupons.

§  If you have made non-flight arrangements such as hotel accommodation, car hiring, etc., then you will need to cancel them separately.

 JetBlue Airways Cancellation Policies for Specific Travel Dates 

You can cancel the following flights by using a travel voucher that is valid through April 30, 2023.

§  For travel by February 28, 2020, tickets booked prior to March 3, 2020 must be redeemed before March 3, 2020.

§  Tickets for travel beyond April 30, 2022 are available on or after March 3, 2020

You can cancel tickets purchased from travel agents by contacting them directly.

 Tips to Remember 

§  Travel vouchers can be used partially or completely to purchase a new flight ticket.

§  You must complete your trip (i.e. both departure and return) by April 30, 20,23.

§  Within 7 days of submitting the application, your vouchers will be emailed.

§  You can cancel your trip online by using Manage My Booking. You also have the option to call JetBlue Airways and request them to cancel your booking. JetBlue Airways will cancel and amend your booking if your travel dates are changed.

§  If you have booked through a travel agent you should contact them directly.

JetBlue Airways has a 24-hour cancellation policy. If you cancel your flight booking within the first 24 hours, you will be refunded your full payment. All types of tickets are covered by the risk-free cancellation policy.

 JetBlue Airways Cancellation Policy for Death or Severe Illness 

JetBlue Airways cancels flights dues to severe illness (or the death of a family member):

§  Documentation must be presented by the passenger to prove illness (medical certificate), or death (death certificate).

§  In case of illness, the validity period of the ticket may be extended.

§  In the case of death, the ticket's validity can be extended for no more that 45 days.

 JetBlue Airways Cancellation Procedure for Lost Tickets 

JetBlue Airways' cancellation policy for lost ticket claims that in the event of a loss, you will need to provide sufficient evidence and pay the appropriate administration fee. If your request is approved, you will only receive a refund after your ticket expires. JetBlue Airways may also charge you an administration fee if you are found guilty of fraud.

JetBlue Airways, its authorized agents or negligence may cause your ticket to become lost.

JetBlue Airways charges these cancellation fees:

§  Online cancellation fee--free

§  Cancellation fees by phone--USD25

§  Cancellation Fee at the Airport--USD 35

§  For non-refundable tickets, cancellation fees are USD 10 online, USD 25 over the phone and USD 35 at departure.

Note. If you cancel your ticket on or after March 3, 2020 and travel by April 30, 2022, you can claim a travel coupon.

JetBlue Airways compensation policy applies for flights from/to any European Union airport, and in some instances to flights that land in countries outside the European Union.

You will be entitled for compensation if your flight is delayed by more then 3 hours, but it could have been prevented by the airline.

§  EUR250 when your flight is under 1500 km

§  EUR400 if you fly within the EU for more than 1500km

§  EUR 400 for flights between 1500-3500km.

§  EUR600 for flights that are not included in the above list (i.e., over 3500km).

Compensation will not be given if an alternative flight is offered to you with the following departure and arriving times:

§  BA informs you 7-13 days before departure that your flight has been cancelled. The new flight departs at least 2 hours earlier than the original departure times and lands at the final destination no later then 4 hours after the original arrival.

§  BA will notify you of cancellation n at least 7 days before departure. If your new flight departs no less than 1 hour prior to your original departure time, it will land at your final destination no longer than 2 hours later than your original arrival time.

Note. BA will reduce the compensation by 50%. Your new flight's departure time at the destination airport does not exceed your original flight arrival time.

§  For flights within 1500km, it takes 2 hours

§  Flying over 1500km within Europe takes 3 hours

§  3 hours for flights between 1500-3500km

§  4 hours for flights that are not included in this coverage

 Claiming and Compensation 

JetBlue Airways will reimburse any expenses you incur because your JetBlue Airways flight was delayed, cancelled or delayed.

 JetBlue Airways Cancellation and Refund Policy - Points to Remember 

JetBlue Airways will cancel your flight and refund you the full price of the ticket or reroute you on the next flight. If you are not satisfied with the new flight, you can ask for a full refund. Online cancellations can be made if you booked your flight through JetBlue Airways. The customer service portal allows you to request a refund online. Or, you can contact JetBlue Airways offline. The amount you are refunded will not include any service fees already paid.

You can always get a refund no matter what the reason was for your flight being cancelled. Even if the airline cancels your flight due to weather, strikes of employees, airport closures, airspace restrictions, or other reasons, you still have the right to a refund. However, you are still eligible for a refund.

Additional assistance during your wait at the Airport is also available, including refreshments, accommodation at a hotel (for an overnight stay), and transportation between the airport and the hotel.

JetBlue Airways' cancellation policy may not allow you to receive a refund.

How many days will JetBlue Airways take to process my refund

JetBlue Airways tickets bought directly via credit cards in the United States are processed within 7 working days of receiving the application. It may take up two billing cycles for the credit card statement to reflect. Tickets purchased with checks can be refunded within 20 working days of receiving the application.

 Is JetBlue Airways eligible to refund my flight? 

These conditions allow you to receive a full reimbursement for your JetBlue Airways reservation:

§  Book at least 1 week prior to your travel date. Cancel within 24 hours.
